Statement of Qualifications
Philip Brownsey is a consulting rangeland ecologist and licensed with the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection as a Certified Rangeland Manager (#110). Philip has a BA in Economics from Colby Collecge and an MSc in Range Management from the University of California at Berkeley. He has over fifteen years of experience working in natural resource management, including work as a range and pasture conservation planner for the Natural Resource Conservation Service; as the range and invasive plant program manager for the Shasta-Trinity National Forest; research on medusahead, including treatment options and its effects on ecosystems services; and California grassland restoration. In addition, Mr. Brownsey has wildfire experience as a FFT2 for The Nature Conservancy in the Lassen Foothills and Arkansas, as well as experience as a fireline Resource Advisor and Burned Areas Emergency Response Specialist with the Forest Service.
